An unbelieving person is sometimes closer to God than a believer (Jacques Suurmond)

My God, I read an old interview with this journalist in which he states that people who do not believe and do not have such a clear picture of God are sometimes closer to God than people who believe, who are more concerned with their image of God than with God Itself. Would You like to comment on this?
 

That’s allright.

God sees in the hearts of people and in their minds, and then it can turn out there that an unbelieving person is more open to the mystery of life, to the intuition, to the signals that God gives through his heart than a believer is.
For example, a believer can be very concerned with the fear of hell, of a punishing God, of the imperfections of life and, therefore not acknowledging God's love for man.

But we compare apples to oranges. It remains a fact that an unbeliever misses the basis of existence, the core of life, the great purpose on earth, namely living in and from God and recognizing God as the only Cause. That is really something.

So you can easily compare a loving believer with a loveless unbeliever as well, then you won't be happy with the differences either.

The moral of the story is that man is more different than he seems to be, that the opposition of believer and unbeliever is more nuanced than people think and that God welcomes loving unbelievers with more joy than hateful believers. For sure.

But let the moral of this story be that you should never compare people to each other, because always will be someone the victim. Leave man alone and leave the estimating weighting of his life to God.

God knows love better than I do

Once again I have done some stupid and primitive things, I rest my case of what that is, and sigh to My God: “What a stump I am. You really can do better without me”. And My God answers:
                                            
What an unloving remark, my son

I am so surprised and suddenly I realize how I treated myself relentlessly once again and how I just looked at what did not work and not at all my efforts and at everything I tried and did well.

I say to my God, you probably want to comment on this?

I certainly want so, my son, this is never the way We are looking  at you men. The other way around We are looking at men with so much love and patience and compassion and understanding and with a lot of attention for your good will and your efforts and all your good intentions. And above all We see how you judge yourself almost day and night and judge and sigh under your failures. You judge yourself so unlovingly and ruthlessly and impatiently and strictly, We in the spiritual world do not need to add anything to this, and We certainly do not want to participate in this. You do it for two.

And We see in you mere playing, unsuspecting, thoughtless and cute children. So you are wonderful to see. Don't you think the same when you are watching children? Beautiful, innocent creatures full of goodwill, though with a little fuss.

There is nothing more to say about it.

This is indeed what God is seeing as well. The suffering, the despair, the disappointment, the worries, the grief that hide behind addictions. And often, not always, it is the cause of addictions. Therefore, mankind and its addictions are considered by the spiritual world with love and without judgment.

Addictions are severely condemned by mankind and are indeed corrupt and streets coming to a dead end. But God sees the backgrounds and sees what eventually will lead to life experience and insight. God does not even judge the behaviour, not even the effects of addictions, not even the addict himself. It is useless and leads to nothing. But understanding of the hidden causes, understanding of the inability of the addicted and loving care of these men in need are cherished by God.

Alice Miller has made her life work on this subject and has done so with great wisdom, much love and much psychological knowledge. Her work is a blessing for mankind.

There is a Jewish story about a wise man , who had two sacks in his coat , in each of them a piece of paper. When he felt well and when he was happy with life, he took that piece of paper out of his pocket, on which was written : "Dust you are and to dust you shall return ." So for himself he remembered in this manner all the good he experienced wasn’t that obvious.

And when he was weighed down by the difficulties of life, he took the other piece of paper out of his pocket, on which was written: " The world has been made ​​for man," for mustering up courage on the moment.

And now for me: I try to remember in my difficult moments it’s part of the deal, it all may be as it is. I shouldn’t draw conclusions out of the moment of difficulty. I should say yes to live, just accept everything in the here and now.
And in my beautiful moments enjoying them meanwhile it is my intention to remember these beautiful moments for the hard moments.

And by trying this all,  I want to learn to say yes to everything in life, say yes to everything . But I am very unhappy how often I manage it. Something like that.

Do not be too hard on yourself . Keep practicing .
But this is it. Finding hope in dark moments and paying attention to the beautiful moments . And equally accepting them all, saying yes to them all. And as the Dalai Lama is saying this so beautiful, the universe not judging for this.
No judging, no drawing conclusions, not being mad at God. Not thinking all the beautiful things in your life are your own achievement. Who can say how everything happened and how lucky one can be? In short, leave everything .
But there is something else .

This attitude will

• reduce the inner struggle
• channel spiritual energy to better deeds in life
• make the ego smaller
• make the personality grow
• bring inner peace to you
• bring you closer to God
