God blesses soldiers of Ukraine ànd Russia

My God, I must ask You, even though the story is too absurd for words. I saw pictures in the newspaper of a Russian priest blessing soldiers going to war and the same week pictures of a Ukrainian priest blessing soldiers.  I know something is not right then, but You must help me understand all this.

My son, the whole story is true and both Russian and Ukrainian soldiers can be blessed, but the interpretation by man, who sees this and cannot rhyme, is not correct. How can Russian soldiers, blessed by God, fight with Ukrainian soldiers, blessed by God? And who then has God behind him? Let Me explain it to you. And by the blessing we mean both someone who asks for God's help and Its blessing on soldiers in a war as well as soldiers who pray for themselves. We summarize that briefly under God's blessing.

To get straight to the point. God's blessing is for everyone who asks for it, just as the sun shines on all soldiers and the rain moistens all soldiers. God's righteousness is for both sides, without distinction of person.  

Yet of course there is more to say about it, because God's blessing is worth a bit more than the sun or the rain. Let that be said.

This is why everyone gets God's blessing. But beware of the dog. Watch the God. God's blessing works out differently for everyone. We start from three hypothetical situations, where everything is very clear.

The soldier who fought the German army in World War II, the Vietnamese soldier who fought the poison bombing of the Americans in Vietnam, the soldier who fights against the Russians now in Ukraine gets the blessing. 

And this blessing strengthens him in battle, gives him courage when he needs it, protects him from fear and despondency, and contributes to his ultimate victory for the good cause regardless of whether he himself dies or is wounded or not.

"So far so good".

The soldier who causes a war in another country, like the Germans in World War II, the Americans who poisoned for many years with "Agent Orange" the poor defenceless people and nature in Vietnam and now the Russians in Ukraine, who bomb residential apartments and chase old people out of their houses, they also get the blessing. But that blessing works out differently. They too gain strength in despondency, energy to endure suffering and peace in their inner selves when they are desperate. Like rain cools everyone in drought and heat. But that's the personal, direct impact on them inside. And maybe they also seem just more powerful and successful than the other party.

But looks are deceiving. For the blessing of God works directly in increasing the failure in the end, in the failure of the evil pursuit, in destroying the evil causes of this war, in the demoralization of the whole people, the government, the turning of an apparently successful war into total destruction of the evildoers.  

Hitler committed suicide, his country was bombed, the women of Germany were raped en masse.

The Americans were forced on their knees, the politicians had to resign, the hawks in the country were humiliated, the war was lost, the reputation of the Americans was damaged forever and their image tarnished. 

And so it will be with the Russian people, their leader Putin and the unjust useless war they have started. Already the Russian people are suffering from the war, the young Russian soldiers are dying in droves and Putin can no longer show himself in the civilized world.

And what about soldiers who are in a war where both countries are guilty?

So where the distinction between good and evil is not that simple? Oh well, do I need to say more about it? If two peoples are at war, and they both stand for a just cause, is it not very quickly clear to the whole world that there are only losers and that this war is not going to lead to anything? Haven't there been other ways developed by mankind to fight a dispute? Mediators, consultative bodies, United Nations commissions, regional networks, mediating befriended countries. This should have been the case in Ukraine and Russia.

In countries that are at war, there are only losers.

Nevertheless, both countries are blessed.

What does your attention go to in life?

My God, would You like to elaborate on this? I have understood from life, for what your attention goes, that becomes important in life. But this quote is very penetrating. 

Very penetrating, my son, and a promise to man.

But we need to take a few things apart.

What goal does man set himself?

And how consistent and driven in life does he keep that goal in mind?

Where your thoughts, your feelings, your heart go out, that's where energy is put in, that attracts man, that comes his way. And if man does not allow himself to be distracted, then it is inevitable that what he desires will be realized.  But in man, that can be any goal, including sex or power or money or more beautiful ideals such as art, mankind or God.

And this seems like an impossible task for man, to become noble. But the difference between a saint and an ordinary person is that the saint holds on to his ideal and does not, like the ordinary man, drop out, and does not allow himself to be distracted. And so a man becomes noble when he comes to love noble things, noble people, noble deeds. There is no other way.

If we love what is noble, we become noble

And how can it be, in another example, that a person strives for something all his life and never gets it and so his life seems to have failed? It's topic for another blog, but in short, it comes down to this. This man then pursues impossible things, impossible for him in this special life, by unsuitable talents, unsuitable character, unsuitable destiny or simply bad luck.

But if you really come to love noble things, to choose them, and to keep it up, then you can't help but become noble, also because God wants to achieve that in man. And then man has a very great power behind him. That, of course, makes the aspiration strong.   And a saint simply cherishes goals that are pleasing to God. For a saint never pursues anything that is contrary to the laws of God. And that is wise of a saint.  Fulton Sheen is blessed.

Ukraine, will it remain a regional war?

May I ask You. Everyone certainly in Europe is shocked at what is happening in Ukraine. How afraid must the world be, My God?

In a previous blog I have already said that the conflicts in the world will remain regional because the world consciousness of mankind will no longer allow a world war (see blog https://watchthegod-english.blogspot.com/2014/09/jihadists-ukraine-and-ebola.html )

Nevertheless, this war will have major consequences.

Woe to the citizens of Ukraine who thought they could build their country in freedom and prosperity.

Woe to the dead who will fall because of this senseless war.

Woe to the beautiful cities of Ukraine that will be destroyed by senseless bombs.

Woe to the children of Ukraine who should not experience such violence in their youth.

Woe to the elderly of Ukraine who are becoming despondent and homeless for the umpteenth time.

Woe also to the mothers of the Russian soldiers who will mourn their dead sons.

But above all, woe also Putin, who by this act again goes too far in his career. His fall is thus continued. The Russian people will be awakened and come to understand that their initial saviour must be saved himself. Like many other dictators who only surround themselves with pumpjacks, such a person with too much power derails. Thus he will not be able to understand the price he has to pay in the spiritual world over his last years.

Woe also to the rest of the world who has wax on its head for many years, and for thirty years has left the Russian people to their fate and thereby helped to create this war.  

But rest assured, My son, everything remains regional. And know that the evil in her own germ has already started her spoilage. More good will come out of it than humanity can now imagine. God will take care of that. 

The Ukrainian people are blessed.

Even in trouble you are not left by God to your fate

When you are going through hard times and wonder where god is remember the teacher is always quiet during a test (Keanu Reeves)

My God, would You like to elaborate on this? 

It is certainly a great truth that man never, ever stands alone and is left to his own devices. You are loved and cherished day and night. 

So this quote seems nice and clear but it's not entirely correct.  

This presupposes, even though not really said in so many words, that all difficulties are a test imposed on man by God. And that's not the case. Something regularly happens to man that is not planned, not intended and certainly not imposed. But it is certainly true that God likes to see how man then holds himself up in these difficulties, because that testifies of the spiritual power of man.

And also this quote suggests that God keeps Itself calm, so then does nothing. And that too deserves a considerable nuance. God can never help but keep quiet. So God does not know an attitude of man-is-being-tested-and-God-looks-calm-at-it.    

But what is more important and that is the core of this blog: as soon as man gets into trouble, he is absolutely not alone then and  the spiritual world takes office immediately. I consciously use this verb. Then the spiritual world takes office immediately.

The guardian angel actively invokes the spiritual powers necessary to keep this person afloat or to provide tools. It also activates an acute network of auxiliaries that are necessary to support, help or protect the person himself in these difficulties from wrong reactions or actions. I mention, for example, the spirit of resilience, the spirit of inner peace, the spirit of clear thinking, the spirit of practical action and the spirit of thoughtfulness. But in addition, people are called in around this person in need who can help, think along, listen or advise. All the guardian angels of these people have long been activated and informed so that "their people" can respond adequately and lovingly.

The twofold regret of an addict after his death

My God, may I ask you. I've been talking to people a lot lately about what an addiction means in their lives and how drastic it was and how much effort it takes to get rid of it. And I honestly know very few people who aren't addicted. I even know a mother who is addicted to her children. But let's keep it simple. I mean alcohol and food and drugs and cigarettes and sex and stuff.

That is what I like to do. Great subject and big consequences in all cases.

First, the word addicted. Very simply said, someone who is addicted is a slave and cannot get rid of it or from Our perspective: wants to remain a slave throughout his life. Oops, that's a painful word, but it certainly also turns out to be painful after death. That's really a thing, My son. 

 The stories of ex-addicts who have dealt with their addiction, who have become free humans and certainly after their death look back with great happiness on their liberation, not on the addicted period before, We let those stories rest here.

Someone who is addicted and has passed on after the death of his physical body has to deal with intense suffering and intense regret. Not because God punishes him or her. Certainly not. An addicted person is taken care of with a lot of love and treated with a lot of love. But We can't brush away the addiction above. That means that an addict goes through a self-created hell, in which he can no longer “use”. There are no alcohol or sex or drugs or food or cigarettes available.

So one is thrown into the deep end of the intense cravings, the desire for satisfaction, for what one one was slave to, in short an agonizing abstinence. And that is his of her own little temporary self-created hell in the spiritual world, no matter how much We guide the process. A hell in the spiritual world. And it lasts as long as necessary and can take place in thousands of different ways.

In this whole process of healing, because that's what it is, the addict knows two kinds of horrific regret. I use the word horrific because regret is the most painful of all negative emotions worse than anger, hatred, sadness or frustration. The addict undergoes a long period of horrific regret. 

Regret that one has not stopped on earth with the addiction. Regret that one can no longer use. Regret that one did not want to and could not handle the guidance of others. Regret that all calm and gradual ways to stop the addiction, with or without help, have not been used. Regret that one was and stayed so much a slave. Regret that one was so possessed. Regret that one has been the victim of not being able to stop while one realizes now clearly that one did not want to stop either.

But even more in this situation of struggle, yearning, addiction and sorrow one suffers from what one has made of earthly life. A mess so to speak. The addict knows bitter and intense regret when he looks back at his life and has not seized the thousands of opportunities to make something beautiful out of life. And bitter regrets are there for what one has done to his or her fellow man. The addict on earth has certainly experienced a lot of suffering but has caused even more suffering. To loved ones, to friends, to neighbours, to care providers, to one's own mother, a great deal of suffering has been inflicted. In short, it was a lifetime of being a slave and inflicting suffering. Well, one can't be proud of that.

So God does not have to punish because one does that for oneself.

Is there nothing good about being addicted on earth? There's a lot of good to it. For addicts on earth who have passed on addicted and become free in the spiritual world after a long struggle become great helpers and motivated coaches and sympathetic and understanding fellow human beings. For they understand the suffering in the spiritual world and the suffering on earth, so they will become after all very powerful and useful helpers of God. 

But the subject of this blog was after all the twofold regret of addicts.

They are all blessed.

No man is a stranger to one who knows God

My God, may I ask You. The above quote* is very special.  Would You like to comment on this? 

Nice quote, My son, and all the way to My heart.

Because you are all children of God and, as a result, all brothers and sisters of each other, meeting someone who is a complete stranger can become a great experience.  

When prejudices, fears and unfamiliarity are leading, it becomes difficult.

How easily does a stranger become a scapegoat. And the stranger experiences then on his turn hatred and prejudice in this unknown country.

But it can also go the other way around. 

It will be a revelation to man, when he meets someone he does not yet know, and then comes to know him, and then will experience and discover that much can be shared, that it can become a meeting between two hearts. But that is only possible if both people search together for what unites them or like to be surprised by what they do not know.

But for someone who knows God, has really come to know God, he has become a student in the school of love. And then you can come to love your fellow man, also and even strangers. If you know God, no one can be a stranger. Especially when you remember that you and that stranger are children of God. How easy do you get then a fraternal or sisterly feeling for that stranger. 

So just ask a believer how he views strangers. Or he is then the hands of God on earth as he speaks with love about the stranger. Or he automatically has to come clean if he does not really know God by hating strangers.

The smallest act has big consequences

May I ask You?

I read an article in my newspaper* about a resistance fighter (Derk te Rietstap) in the Second World War in Europe who reacted to the great injustice and oppression and the war with the words: "The world is not doing well, I want to do something about it".

Would You like to comment on this?

I like to do so.

At the smallest good deed, the cosmos breathes a sigh of relief. 

In other words, everything is extremely important and is always perceived and noted by the spiritual world. But also by mankind on earth. The acts of resistance in the Netherlands, for example, have comforted and strengthened the entire Dutch people during the war and have contributed to the enduring of all suffering.

This resistance man not only sighed these words, he also acted on them.

And in the end he died because of this**. 

Don't let anyone underestimate a small individual act, let alone a big one. Everything contributes to the consciousness of mankind as a whole. Everything immediately becomes part of the present and future of mankind. And the man who commits a good deed, he may later take it as a tribute in the spiritual world. Can you imagine what a praise there will be after death if someone thought the right thing and did the right thing for a lifetime? Great joy in the spiritual world for the My God, the guardian angel and the soul. And the beauty of the spiritual body of such a person after his death is indescribable.
